I recently finished my BA (Hons.) in Media and Communication at Birmingham City University, where I studied Online Journalism. It’s no secret that I’m pretty excited about the future of online journalism. I see a wealth of opportunities and interesting developments every day. I’m especially interested in the notion of journalism shifting from a product to a collaborative process.
I love that the boundaries between producers, sources, experts and consumers are increasingly blurry. – New platforms and technologies such as blogs, social media, pocket video/audio recorders provide reporters with tools that take journalism to new levels where no one knows everything, but everyone knows something.
I currently live in Denmark, but am still actively involved with some recent projects like Birmingham Recycled and BeVocal. Both experiments in how you can use social media and the web to engage active citizens in the stuff that matters to them.
What to do here
Here’s a list of some of my recent (and not so recent) projects I have been involved in. There’s also a list of all my writing, mostly about social media, technology and their uses in journalism.
Earlier, I have done a stint of work experince as an online journalist on the local Danish newspaper stiften.dk, aiding in the launch of their blog site as well as working alongside two great online journalists. I have also been on tv (a few seconds), live blogged JEEcamp and made a WordPress theme.
… And I like fly fishing :-)
